What West Chicago Homes Need from an HVAC System
West Chicago has one of the widest mixes of housing in our service area. About one in eight homes was built before 1940, many neighborhoods date from the 1960s through the 1980s, and roughly one in five homes went up in the 1990s. Older homes near downtown often have boilers, smaller ductwork or chimney venting that needs attention when equipment is replaced, while 1990s homes are usually on their first or second furnace and air conditioner.
Pure Comfort looks at equipment condition alongside duct capacity, return air, venting and the space available for a replacement. We explain what we find before recommending a repair or a new system.

Furnace and AC Replacement in Cornerstone Lakes
We do a lot of work in Cornerstone Lakes, the subdivision off Fabyan Parkway near Route 59. Most homes there were built in the late 1990s and early 2000s, so many still have their original furnace and air conditioner, now 25 years old or close to it. That is the age when repairs start getting expensive and replacement starts to make more sense.
Cornerstone Lakes homes run from about 2,000 to more than 3,500 square feet, and most are two-story homes with long duct runs to the upstairs bedrooms. When we replace a system here, we do a load calculation instead of copying the old size, check the return air, and price Lennox options in good, better and best tiers so you can compare. Nicor Gas and ComEd rebates on qualifying furnaces and heat pumps can lower the cost, and we will tell you which ones your new system qualifies for.
The photos and video on this page are from a Lennox furnace and air conditioner replacement we recently finished in a Cornerstone Lakes home: a new high-efficiency furnace with fresh PVC venting, new return-air ductwork, a second furnace with a whole-house humidifier, and a new Lennox air conditioner outside.

Furnace and Heating Repair in West Chicago
A furnace or boiler should heat the home safely and consistently without leaving you guessing about the next breakdown. Pure Comfort repairs and maintains heating systems from all major makes and models.
When replacement makes more sense, we consider the home’s load, duct capacity, return air, filtration and venting. That planning helps the new system operate as intended instead of repeating problems built into the old setup.

AC Repair and Cooling Services in West Chicago
If your air conditioner runs constantly, struggles with humidity or leaves certain rooms warmer than others, the cause may extend beyond the outdoor unit. We check cooling performance, refrigerant operation, drainage, electrical components and airflow before discussing solutions.
For AC replacement, proper sizing and installation details matter. Pure Comfort matches the equipment to the home, verifies supporting conditions and tests operation before the job is complete.

How West Chicago Homes Affect HVAC Cost and Timing
In West Chicago, older homes near downtown can need venting, boiler or ductwork changes, while newer subdivisions usually call for a straightforward furnace and AC replacement.
