Air Purifier and UV Light Installation
Pure Comfort installs whole-home air purifiers, UV lights, media air cleaners and ERV/HRV ventilation in Streamwood and the northwest and west suburbs. Most systems install on your existing furnace or air handler, and a basic UV light starts at $495 installed.
What We Install
UV coil lights
Fresh-Aire Blue-Tube UV lights mount near the indoor coil, where moisture lets mold and bacteria grow. Keeping the coil clean also helps it keep transferring heat the way it should.
UV with odor control
Fresh-Aire APCO-X units add odor control to UV treatment for homes with pets, cooking smells or musty air.
In-duct purifiers
REME HALO purifiers install in the ductwork and treat the air as it circulates through the system.
Media air cleaners
Lennox Healthy Climate media cabinets with MERV 11, 13 or 16 filters capture far finer particles than a thin 1-inch filter.
Lennox PureAir S
Lennox's top whole-home system combines filtration and purification, and it senses and reports air quality when paired with the Lennox S40 thermostat.
ERV and HRV ventilation
Energy and heat recovery ventilators bring in fresh outdoor air while recovering heat from the air going out, which helps tighter homes stay fresh. More on ventilation.
Good, Better, Best
| Option | What it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Good: Media air cleaner | Traps dust, pollen and fine particles with a MERV 11 to 16 filter | Dust and allergy season |
| Better: Media filter plus UV light or in-duct purifier | Adds treatment of germs, mold and odors that filters cannot catch | Musty smells, pets, damp coils |
| Best: Lennox PureAir S | Filtration and purification in one system that senses and reports air quality | The cleanest air Lennox offers |
As of October 2026, a basic UV light system starts at $495 installed, and multi-technology purification systems such as REME HALO or APCO-X units run up to $1,295 installed. PureAir S and ventilation projects are quoted in writing after we look at your system.
Pair It With the Rest of Your System

Air Purification Questions
How much does a UV light or whole-home air purifier cost?
As of October 2026, a basic UV light system starts at $495 installed, and multi-technology purifiers run up to $1,295 installed. You get a written price before any work starts.
Do air purifiers help with allergies?
They may reduce certain airborne particles, but no product can remove every trigger or guarantee health outcomes. We recommend pairing purification with good filtration and humidity control.
Can a purifier be added to my existing furnace?
Yes. Media air cleaners, UV lights and in-duct purifiers install on most existing furnaces and air handlers. Lennox PureAir S works with Lennox systems and the S40 thermostat.
What is the difference between an ERV and an HRV?
Both exchange heat between the incoming and outgoing air streams. An ERV also transfers some moisture, which helps keep winter air from getting too dry and summer air from getting too humid.
Do you install these in my town?
Yes. We install air purification and ventilation across Streamwood, Bartlett, Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, Schaumburg, Elgin and towns throughout Cook, Kane, DuPage and McHenry counties. See service areas.
