Boiler Replacement in the Northwest & West Suburbs
Pure Comfort replaces hot-water boilers with cast-iron and high-efficiency condensing models from Lennox, Weil-McLain, Peerless and Crown. We size each boiler to your home’s heat loss and existing radiators, then rework the near-boiler piping, venting and controls. Replacement is usually worth it when a boiler is 20 to 30 years old, leaking or needing repeated repairs.
Boiler replacement makes sense when repairs keep adding up, the boiler is leaking, it struggles to heat the home or it is near the end of its service life. These are the signs that make an evaluation worth booking early.
Repairs keep repeating
The same call every winter, or a third repair in two seasons, usually points past the failed part itself.
Heat reaches unevenly
Some rooms never warm properly while others run hot, and balancing has not resolved it.
Efficiency has droppedGas use climbs season on season while the house feels the same or slightly worse.
Piping needs work anyway
When the distribution or controls need correcting regardless, doing it alongside a replacement often costs less.
Parts are hard to source
Older boilers reach a point where components are no longer supported and repairs become uncertain.
A major component failed
A heat exchanger or similar failure on an older boiler changes the arithmetic considerably.
Safety first! Repair makes sense when the failure is isolated and the boiler, piping and venting remain in good condition. Pure Comfort evaluates the complete system before recommending a direction.
Our Process
How Do We Plan and Install a New Boiler?
We plan a new boiler with a heat-loss calculation and radiation survey, then install, test and walk you through the system. Capacity follows the home and its distribution system, not the label on the old boiler.
Evaluate the system. We review heating demand, existing piping, radiators or baseboard, zones, pumps, venting, gas, electrical service and controls.
Install and connect. Our in-house team installs the equipment, then connects the distribution system and the controls that operate it.
Fill and commission. We fill, purge and test, verifying temperature, pressure, circulation, safety operation, venting and zone response.
Walk you through. The final walkthrough covers the controls, maintenance intervals and the applicable warranty information.
We compare condition, history, repair cost, comfort and project scope across the complete hydronic system.
REPAIR MAKES SENSE
An isolated failure on sound equipment
Repair makes sense when the failure is isolated and the boiler, piping and venting remain in good condition.
REPLACEMENT IS MORE PRACTICAL
A major repair plus wider changes
Replacement becomes more practical when a major repair is combined with repeated service, poor heat distribution or an installation needing wider changes.
The Four Things We Weigh
Every recommendation comes down to these, considered across the whole system.
01 / CONDITION
Boiler, piping and venting
The parts that cannot be swapped cheaply decide whether a repair is worth making at all.
02 / HISTORY
How often it has needed service
A pattern of repeated calls changes the value of the next repair considerably.
03 / COMFORT
How well heat is distributed
Uneven heat that balancing cannot fix belongs in a replacement conversation, not another repair.
04 / SCOPE
What the project would involve
If piping or controls need changing regardless, combining the work usually costs less overall.
You receive a recommendation based on the complete hydronic system. See Boiler Repair.
Why Homeowners Choose Us
Boiler Knowledge Rooted in Field Experience
Gene first learned the trade helping his father with boilers and water heaters, and that background still shapes how we evaluate hydronic systems.
Hands-on background.
Boilers were part of Gene's first years in the trade, before Pure Comfort was founded in 2008.
Beyond the cabinet.
Circulation, zones, controls and venting all get attention, not just the boiler itself.
In-house installation.
The crew on your project works for Pure Comfort. Hydronic work is never subcontracted.
Properly commissioned.
Commissioning confirms that heat actually reaches the home as intended before we call it finished.
COMPARE THE OPTIONS
Boiler and Control Options
Boiler systems vary by fuel, efficiency, venting, water temperature, pump arrangement and control strategy. The right setup depends on the home’s emitters, piping and heating load.
Zone controls and thermostats may also be updated when doing so improves operation or replaces components that are no longer supported.
What We Compare
The choices that actually change how the system performs.
What Financing, Rebates and Warranties Are Available?
Yes. Qualifying boiler projects can use financing, and as of October 2026 Nicor Gas offers $350 for 95%+ AFUE boilers and $500 for combination boilers. Service Finance is the primary source used for Lennox promotions, with other options available when appropriate.
Rates, terms and rebate amounts change, so we confirm what applies to the selected equipment before you decide. Actual warranty coverage depends on the model, manufacturer requirements and selected labor coverage.
On select Lennox systems during Lennox promotions. Terms vary by system, subject to credit approval.

Hydronic Replacements in Older Local Homes
Boiler replacement in the older housing stock across Streamwood and the surrounding suburbs usually means working with piping and zoning that has been modified several times over the decades.
Planning around what is actually there, rather than what the drawings suggest, is what makes the difference between a system that heats evenly and one that does not.
What Your Neighbors Are Saying
Real Reviews. Real Comfort.
When you need HVAC due to an unexpected event you want someone who not only can provide the service you need….
A boiler should be sized to your home’s heating load and its radiators or baseboard, not just matched to the old boiler.
Can existing radiators or baseboard be reused?
Often, but their condition, output, piping and required water temperature need evaluation.
What happens to the existing zones?
They can often remain or be updated depending on pumps, valves, controls and the new design.
Does a new boiler need different venting?
It may. Vent material, route, termination and combustion-air requirements depend on the equipment.
How long does installation take?
Installation time depends on piping changes, venting, controls, access and permits. We give you the expected timeline on your written quote.
Is financing available?
Financing may be available for qualifying projects, with current terms confirmed during the estimate.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year, ideally in early fall before the heating season. An annual check covers the burner, safety controls, venting, system pressure and expansion tank, so small problems are caught before a cold night. Call (708) 515-4822 to schedule a boiler tune-up.

Standard vs High-Efficiency vs Combi Boilers Compared
A standard cast-iron boiler is the simplest like-for-like replacement, a high-efficiency condensing boiler uses less gas, and a combination boiler heats the home and supplies hot water from one unit.
