Choosing a New Air Conditioner for a Naperville Home
Most Naperville homes went up between 1960 and 2000, so many are large colonials and two-stories with full basements and one air conditioner for the whole house. When we replace it, we check duct sizing, upstairs returns and whether zoning or a second system makes more sense than a bigger unit. Many 1990s and 2000s homes still have their original builder-grade AC, and we price a matched AC and furnace together when both are aging.
AC Installation in Naperville: How It Works
It starts with a free visit to your Naperville home. We measure the house and ductwork, check the electrical service and condenser location and run a load calculation, then give you written Good, Better and Best Lennox options with rebates and financing. On install day, our own crew recovers the old refrigerant, sets the new condenser and matching indoor coil, replaces or flushes the refrigerant lines as needed, pulls a deep vacuum and charges the system by measurement. We check airflow and temperature split before we leave and register the warranty.
Repair or Replace Your Naperville Air Conditioner?
Most central air conditioners last 12 to 17 years here. Replacement usually makes more sense when the compressor or coil fails on an older unit, the system still uses R-22 refrigerant, or repairs keep coming back. If your Naperville AC is younger and the problem is a capacitor, contactor or fan motor, a repair is often the better value, and our Naperville AC repair team can diagnose it for $75.

How much does a new AC cost in Naperville?
As of October 2026, a new air conditioner from Pure Comfort costs $5,000 to $9,000 installed in Naperville, including the matching indoor coil. House size, whether zoning or a second system is needed and matching the coil and furnace drive most of the price in Naperville. Replacing the AC and furnace together costs $8,000 to $19,000, and electric utility rebates can apply if you choose a qualifying heat pump instead.
How do I get a free AC replacement estimate or quote in Naperville?
Call (708) 515-4822 or book online. We visit your Naperville home, measure the house and ductwork, run a load calculation and give you written Good, Better and Best options with rebates and financing. The estimate is free, and there is no pressure to decide on the spot.
Do I need a permit to replace an air conditioner in Naperville?
Permit needs for an air conditioner replacement in Naperville depend on the equipment and project scope. Where a permit is required, we confirm the City of Naperville’s current requirements and pull the permit, or help you file it in towns where the homeowner applies, then schedule any required inspection.
Is a two-stage or variable-speed AC worth it in Naperville?
In Naperville’s larger two-stories, a two-stage or variable-speed AC paired with a variable-speed furnace blower usually evens out the upstairs and handles humidity better than a single-stage unit.
How long does AC replacement take?
Most air conditioner replacements in Naperville take one day, including the new condenser, matching indoor coil, refrigerant lines when needed and startup testing. Adding zoning or a ductless head upstairs can add a day.
Is there an AC installation company near me in Naperville?
Yes. Pure Comfort is based in Streamwood, about 40 minutes from Naperville, and installs air conditioners across 60540, 60563, 60564 and 60565. We are a Lennox Premier Dealer with NATE-certified technicians, and our own crews do every install.
Should I replace my furnace and AC at the same time in Naperville?
If both are about 15 years old or older, replacing them together usually saves on labor and lets us match the new furnace blower to the new AC coil for better efficiency. A furnace and AC replaced together typically runs $8,000 to $19,000 installed. If one system is much newer, we can replace only the one that needs it.
