Choosing a New Air Conditioner for a Schaumburg Home
Many Schaumburg homes from the 1960s and 1970s had central air added after they were built, so the ducts and returns were sized for heating. That is why a back bedroom or lower level can run warm even with a working AC. When we replace an air conditioner here, we size it by load calculation and look at whether a two-stage system with a variable-speed blower will move air more evenly through the existing ductwork. In townhome and condo communities, condensers often sit side by side on shared pads or rooftops, close to walls and fences. We check service clearances and association rules before setting a new unit, and we choose a model that fits the pad and keeps the coil clear of cottonwood and debris.
AC Installation in Schaumburg: How It Works
It starts with a free visit to your Schaumburg home. We measure the house and ductwork, check the electrical service and condenser location and run a load calculation, then give you written Good, Better and Best Lennox options with rebates and financing. On install day, our own crew recovers the old refrigerant, sets the new condenser and matching indoor coil, replaces or flushes the refrigerant lines as needed, pulls a deep vacuum and charges the system by measurement. We check airflow and temperature split before we leave and register the warranty.
Repair or Replace Your Schaumburg Air Conditioner?
Most central air conditioners last 12 to 17 years here. Replacement usually makes more sense when the compressor or coil fails on an older unit, the system still uses R-22 refrigerant, or repairs keep coming back. If your Schaumburg AC is younger and the problem is a capacitor, contactor or fan motor, a repair is often the better value, and our Schaumburg AC repair team can diagnose it for $75.

We submit the application through the Village’s online portal, post the permit card and schedule the inspection with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Is a two-stage or variable-speed AC worth it in Schaumburg?
In ranches with ducts sized for heat, a two-stage AC with a variable-speed blower moves air more evenly. Single-stage systems are a solid budget choice in many condos and townhomes.
How long does AC replacement take?
Most air conditioner replacements in Schaumburg take one day, including the new condenser, matching indoor coil, refrigerant lines when needed and startup testing. Adding zoning or a ductless head upstairs can add a day.
Is there an AC installation company near me in Schaumburg?
Yes. Pure Comfort is based in Streamwood, about 15 minutes from Schaumburg, and installs air conditioners across 60193, 60194, 60195 and 60173. We are a Lennox Premier Dealer with NATE-certified technicians, and our own crews do every install.
Should I replace my furnace and AC at the same time in Schaumburg?
If both are about 15 years old or older, replacing them together usually saves on labor and lets us match the new furnace blower to the new AC coil for better efficiency. A furnace and AC replaced together typically runs $8,000 to $19,000 installed. If one system is much newer, we can replace only the one that needs it.
