HVAC Maintenance Technician in Streamwood, IL
Pure Comfort is hiring an HVAC maintenance technician to handle furnace and AC tune-ups. HVAC trade school and EPA certification required. Full-time, based in Streamwood.
About the role
Maintenance visits are how we keep customers' systems safe and running, and how many of our customers get to know us. You will perform seasonal furnace and air conditioner tune-ups, document what you find and flag needed repairs for our service team.
What you will do
- Perform furnace tune-ups: clean burners and flame sensors, check igniters, inducers and pressure switches
- Run combustion and carbon monoxide safety checks
- Perform AC tune-ups: clean condenser coils, check refrigerant performance, capacitors and contactors
- Replace filters, clear condensate drains and check humidifier pads
- Take photos and document findings in Housecall Pro
- Explain findings to homeowners and refer repairs to the service team
What you need
- HVAC trade school certificate, degree or program completion
- EPA 608 certification
- Valid Illinois driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Good communication with homeowners
- Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces and basements
Nice to have
- Any residential HVAC field experience
- Experience with Lennox equipment
- Basic electrical troubleshooting

What does a typical schedule look like?
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed. Lead service technicians also take part in occasional on-call rotations, including weekends. Overtime is available during peak heating and cooling seasons.
Can I grow from apprentice or maintenance into service?
Yes. Paid training and ride-alongs with our lead technicians are how most of our apprentices and maintenance techs move into service and lead install roles.
