HVAC Install Apprentice in Streamwood, IL
Start your HVAC career on an install crew. Pure Comfort is hiring an install apprentice with HVAC trade school and EPA certification. Full-time, based in Streamwood.
About the role
You will work side by side with our lead installers on furnace, air conditioner, heat pump and mini-split replacements. This is a hands-on role for someone who finished HVAC school and wants to learn to do installs the right way: clean, code-compliant and built to last.
What you will do
- Help remove old equipment and set new furnaces, coils, condensers and heat pumps
- Assist with sheet metal, PVC venting, gas piping and condensate lines
- Run and braze line sets, pressure test and pull vacuum under supervision
- Help with startup, combustion testing and system checkout
- Keep job sites, basements and the work van clean and organized
- Treat every home with respect: shoe covers, floor protection and a clean finish
What you need
- HVAC trade school certificate, degree or program completion
- EPA 608 certification
- Basic hand and power tool skills
- Valid Illinois driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in attics and crawl spaces
Nice to have
- Any field experience, even part-time or seasonal
- Sheet metal or brazing experience
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
Where this role leads
Apprentices who show skill and reliability move up to installer, then lead installer. Lead installers take home a company vehicle.

What does a typical schedule look like?
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed. Lead service technicians also take part in occasional on-call rotations, including weekends. Overtime is available during peak heating and cooling seasons.
Can I grow from apprentice or maintenance into service?
Yes. Paid training and ride-alongs with our lead technicians are how most of our apprentices and maintenance techs move into service and lead install roles.
