Choosing a New Furnace for a Glendale Heights Home
Most Glendale Heights homes went up from the 1960s through the 1980s, and many are already on their second or third furnace. In the ranches and split-levels, the furnace often lives in a hallway closet or a small utility room, so cabinet height, width and return air size decide which new furnace will fit. We measure the space and the return before quoting, because a furnace with too little return air will overheat and shut down on its limit switch. Townhomes and condos add another layer: long vent and drain runs to an outside wall. A new high-efficiency furnace there has to stay within the vent length limits, and we route the condensate drain and place the exterior vent so it is less likely to freeze or get buried by snow.
Furnace Installation in Glendale Heights: How It Works
It starts with a free visit to your Glendale Heights home. We measure the house and ductwork, check the venting and gas supply and run a load calculation, then give you written Good, Better and Best Lennox options with rebates and financing laid out. On install day, our own crew removes the old furnace, sets the new one, connects venting, gas, condensate and controls, and tests combustion, temperature rise and airflow before we leave. We register the warranty and walk you through the new thermostat settings.
Repair or Replace Your Glendale Heights Furnace?
A gas furnace usually lasts 15 to 20 years in the Chicago area. A quick check is the $5,000 rule: multiply the furnace’s age by the repair price. If the result is over $5,000, replacement usually makes more sense. If your Glendale Heights furnace is younger or the repair is small, a repair may be the better value, and our Glendale Heights furnace repair team can diagnose it for $75.

How much does a new furnace cost in Glendale Heights?
As of October 2026, a new furnace from Pure Comfort costs $3,000 to $9,500 installed in Glendale Heights. Closet fit, return air size and long vent and drain runs in townhomes and condos drive most of the furnace price in Glendale Heights. How do I get a free furnace estimate or quote in Glendale Heights?
Call (708) 515-4822 or book online. We visit your Glendale Heights home, measure the house and ductwork, run a load calculation and give you written Good, Better and Best options with rebates and financing. The estimate is free, and there is no pressure to decide on the spot.
Do I need a permit to replace a furnace in Glendale Heights?
Where a permit is required, we confirm the Village of Glendale Heights’ current requirements and pull the permit, or help you file it in towns where the homeowner applies, then schedule any required inspection.
Should I choose an 80% or a high-efficiency 96% furnace in Glendale Heights?
In Glendale Heights ranches with a chimney, an 80% furnace can keep the existing vent, while a 96% unit needs a new PVC route. In townhomes and condos, we check the vent length and exterior termination before picking a high-efficiency model.
How long does a furnace replacement take?
Most furnace replacements in Glendale Heights take one day. Jobs that add return air, new venting or zoning can take a second day. If you are without heat, tell us when you call so we can schedule the install as soon as the equipment is available.
Is there a furnace replacement company near me in Glendale Heights?
Yes. Pure Comfort is based in Streamwood, about 25 minutes from Glendale Heights, and installs furnaces across 60139. We are a Lennox Premier Dealer with NATE-certified technicians, and our own crews do every install.
Is it worth replacing a 20- or 30-year-old furnace?
Usually, yes. Most furnaces last about 15 to 20 years in Chicago-area winters. A 20- to 30-year-old furnace is often far less efficient than a new high-efficiency model, parts get harder to find, and heat exchanger problems become more likely. If yours is safe and the repair is small, fixing it can still make sense. In Glendale Heights, we check the furnace and give you both prices so you can decide.
