Choosing a New Air Conditioner for a Barrington Hills Home
Many Barrington Hills homes have two or more air conditioners or one zoned system serving long duct runs, and the usual complaint is one zone or the upstairs running several degrees warmer than the rest of the house. When we replace an AC here, we look at the zone dampers, controls and return air along with the condenser, since a bigger unit will not fix a zone that cannot get air. Each condenser and coil is sized with a load calculation for the area it serves. On large lots, we also check condenser location and the line set route. Older R-22 systems are coming due, and replacing one means a new matched coil. Guest houses, pool houses and barns with their own cooling are quoted as separate systems.
AC Installation in Barrington Hills: How It Works
It starts with a free visit to your Barrington Hills home. We measure the house and ductwork, check the electrical service and condenser location and run a load calculation, then give you written Good, Better and Best Lennox options with rebates and financing. On install day, our own crew recovers the old refrigerant, sets the new condenser and matching indoor coil, replaces or flushes the refrigerant lines as needed, pulls a deep vacuum and charges the system by measurement. We check airflow and temperature split before we leave and register the warranty.
Repair or Replace Your Barrington Hills Air Conditioner?
Most central air conditioners last 12 to 17 years here. Replacement usually makes more sense when the compressor or coil fails on an older unit, the system still uses R-22 refrigerant, or repairs keep coming back. If your Barrington Hills AC is younger and the problem is a capacitor, contactor or fan motor, a repair is often the better value, and our Barrington Hills AC repair team can diagnose it for $75.

Is a two-stage or variable-speed AC worth it in Barrington Hills?
For large, zoned Barrington Hills homes, a two-stage or variable-speed AC is usually worth it. Low-stage runs match small zone calls better, cut short cycling, and help keep upstairs and far rooms closer to the thermostat setting.
How long does AC replacement take?
Most air conditioner replacements in Barrington Hills take one day, including the new condenser, matching indoor coil, refrigerant lines when needed and startup testing. Adding zoning or a ductless head upstairs can add a day.
Is there an AC installation company near me in Barrington Hills?
Yes. Pure Comfort is based in Streamwood, about 20 minutes from Barrington Hills, and installs air conditioners across 60010, 60021 and 60102. We are a Lennox Premier Dealer with NATE-certified technicians, and our own crews do every install.
Should I replace my furnace and AC at the same time in Barrington Hills?
If both are about 15 years old or older, replacing them together usually saves on labor and lets us match the new furnace blower to the new AC coil for better efficiency. A furnace and AC replaced together typically runs $8,000 to $19,000 installed. If one system is much newer, we can replace only the one that needs it.
